Live Session: Inclusive Design Leads to Learner Retention
Description: Adult education classrooms are in many ways like miniature societies where the climate is directly connected to learner retention and outcomes. While adult education staff often work hard to make their program and classrooms welcoming places, research indicates that specific steps to design an inclusive environment has a positive impact on all students. This live zoom event will explore the aspects of inclusive design and discuss the role of the leaders and instructors in helping programs create the optimal program environment.
Date/Time: Monday, April 19, 3:00 – 4:00pm ET (live session)
Discussion Group: Program Management

Live Session: Equity and Support for Native American Communities with Arizona State Director Sheryl Hart
Date/Time: Wednesday, April 21, 4:00 – 5:00pm ET (live session)
Description: We know disparities exist for underserved populations. Those without a high school diploma or its equivalent and/or functioning at low levels of literacy are frequently at greater risk for poverty, under- or un-employment, incarceration, and poor health. As we continue our refrain on access, equity, and support for underserved populations, the LINCS Program Management Group will be hosting its live event in April focusing on Native American service strategies and supports.
