The Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) released Program Memo 24-3: Use of Adult Education and Family Literacy Act Funds for Participant Child and Dependent Care and Transportation Costs – Frequently Asked Questions.
The guidance clarifies how funds provided under the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act may be used to pay for the costs of supportive services, such as child and dependent care and transportation, when adult learners need this assistance to participate in adult education and literacy programs to advance their educational and career goals. The guidance also includes a list of federal programs that provide support services and other assistance.
OCTAE encourages the review and distribution of this guidance with all interested stakeholders.
