ED USCIS Seals

In support of Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFL) Week and National Citizenship Week, the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA), the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE), and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are collaborating on an interagency stakeholder engagement webinar to be held on 9/16/24 from 1-2 pm (ET). 

Through this interagency stakeholder engagement, OELA, OCTAE, and USCIS will share relevant information, currently available and upcoming resources and other initiatives that support multilingual learners and multilingualism, as well as immigrant integration and naturalization for new Americans. 

Key topics include: 

  • Family engagement with multilingual families and other 2-gen strategies 
  • Early learning opportunities that help young English learners (ELs) 
  • Dual language, adult education, and adult citizenship education programs 
  • English learners acquisition of the Seal of Biliteracy 
  • Promoting pathways to citizenship for English learners
