States Selected for Integrated Education and Training in Corrections Pilot
The Integrated Education and Training (IET) in Corrections project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE), is designed to help states and correctional education programs develop or enhance IET programs in prisons and jails. States and their local correctional education partners were recently invited to apply for a one-year pilot. We are pleased to announce that the following six states were selected:
- Indiana
- Maryland
- Minnesota
- Mississippi
- Texas
- West Virginia
Led by RTI International and its partners—Safal Partners, Vera Institute of Justice, Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and World Education, the pilot will provide intensive technical assistance from May 2021–2022. Lessons learned and best practices from the pilot will summarized in an IET in corrections manual to be released in late 2022.
