Submissions due November 25: $750,000 adult education challenge is advancing pre-apprenticeships

Dear Colleagues,

We’re following up with a reminder about the deadline for Rethink Adult Ed Challenge, a $750,000 competition to advance pre-apprenticeships. The Department invites AEFLA-funded adult education providers to design programs that better prepare learners for apprenticeships and beyond.

Preliminary program designs are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on November 25. A review panel will select up to 100 finalists to join Stage 2, which runs from February to July 2021. Finalists will have access to a range of digital resources — such as case studies, activities, and webinars with subject matter experts — to help them refine their designs and develop more detailed program proposals.

Help us share this opportunity with adult education providers

All AELFA-funded adult education providers are eligible to enter the challenge. We would appreciate you sharing this deadline reminder with all eligible providers in your state. See below for sample newsletter, web, and social media content.

Please note that local providers are required to have permission from your office to enter and may approach you for formal documentation. Entrants may use the state approval form on the challenge site or ask for other written verification that confirms their organization receives AELFA funding and has permission to participate in the challenge.

If you have any questions or would like to request additional sample communications, please reply to this email or contact hello@rethinkadulted.com.

Regards,

Travis
