60-Day Comment Period for Joint WIOA Performance ICR

Dear Colleagues,

On July 9, 2020, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), announced the 60-day public comment period in the Federal Register concerning a proposed extension for the information collection request (ICR) titled, “Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Common Performance Reporting (OMB Control No. 1205–0526).”  The comment period concludes on September 8, 2020.

ETA, OCTAE, and RSA seek approval of a revision to the current ICR, previously approved on June 30, 2016, which details the requirements for joint WIOA performance reporting.  The ICR contains the following:

  • WIOA Statewide Performance Report Template and WIOA Local Performance Report Template (ETA–9169);
  • WIOA Joint Participant Individual Record Layout (ETA–9170); and
  • WIOA Eligible Training Provider Performance Report Specifications and WIOA Eligible Training Provider Performance Report Definitions (ETP– 9171). [Note that this instrument does not apply to the AEFLA program.]

This proposal revises and updates certain aspects of the existing joint performance information collection instruments, and includes a few non-substantive adjustments to clarify data elements and align the forms with published guidance and policy.  To view the supporting statement and these instruments, please visit: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/Performance/.

The WIOA Federal partners appreciate your review of this proposed ICR revision.

Sincerely,

Cheryl L. Keenan
