LINCS Events for the Week of 7/19/2021

Live Session:  Transform, Engage, and Retain (TSTM)

Description:  Transform a Teaching the Skills That Matter (TSTM) lesson into a virtual learning lesson using an interactive digital tool called Nearpod. In this session, participants will learn how to keep students engaged and boost student participation with collaborative activities and formative assessments like Virtual Reality, Polls, Collaborate Boards, and game-based quizzes. Educators will also learn best practices using Nearpod and TSTM for program and classroom improvement. (Please note this is not an official endorsement of Nearpod.)

Live Session:  Advocating for Prison & Reentry Education

Description: Joins us as we consider ways that educators can advocate for and on behalf of their students to create a more robust and supportive system for adult learners in correctional and reentry settings.  We will discuss understanding the issues facing adult learners, what it means to be an advocate for students as they progress into trade or post-secondary programming, and best practices for engaging legislators and administrators.
